Police Charge Man After Fatal Truck Crash - Greystanes

A man has been charged following a two- truck collision in Sydney's west earlier this year.

About 4.20am Friday 23 May 2025, emergency services were called to Greystanes Road, Greystanes, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command found a Pantech truck and a prime mover had collided.

A 29-year-old man – who was a passenger in the Pantech truck – died at the scene.

The driver of the Pantech truck – a 25-year-old man – and the driver of the prime mover – a 45-year-old man – were not injured and taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash, with assistance from officers attached to the Crash Investigation Unit.

Following inquiries, on Sunday 13 July 2025, the driver of the Pantech truck was issued a Court Attendance Notice for dangerous driving occasioning death – driver manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasioning death) and use, permit to be used on road heavy vehicle that is unsafe.

He will appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 28 August 2025.
