Police charge man after food contamination Roxburgh Park

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged food contamination incident at a Roxburgh Park supermarket yesterday.

Police were called to a supermarket on Somerton Road, Roxburgh Park about 4.35pm on Tuesday 6 October after receiving reports of a man behaving erratically.

It is alleged the man contaminated a food product before leaving the scene.

Detectives executed a search warrant at a Craigieburn address this morning and arrested a 33-year-old man at the scene.

He was interviewed by police and will be charged with contaminating goods with the intention to cause or being reckless as to whether it would cause public alarm or economic loss.

The Craigieburn man is expected to face Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court this afternoon.
