Police charge man after Geelong Racecourse incident

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after he allegedly ran across the Geelong Racecourse track during a horserace last year.

The 29-year-old man has been charged with three counts of reckless conduct endangering life.

The charges follow an incident on Saturday 5 November during the tenth race of the day where it is alleged a man ran across the track as the field of horses and their jockeys approached the finishing post.

The Leopold man has been bailed to appear before Geelong Magistrates' Court on 5 June 2023.
