Children and families are invited to discover a world of creativity, mystery and imagination these school holidays when acclaimed touring company Little Wing Puppets brings both its interactive production, A Little Bit of Blue, and a hands-on Puppetry of Paper Workshop to Shellharbour Civic Centre on Friday 2 October.
Tickets are available separately for the performance and workshop, allowing families to enjoy one or both experiences.
In the captivating puppet show, young audiences help solve the curious case of a series of disappearing household items while learning about one of Australia's most fascinating native birds, the bowerbird, and its love of the colour blue.

The story begins when Mrs Mavis Hooley discovers yet another treasured item has vanished. With clothes pegs, wool and even cash mysteriously disappearing, she calls in a detective to solve the case. As the investigation unfolds, young audience members become part of the action, helping uncover the truth behind the strange thefts.
Following the performance, aspiring puppeteers can take part in the Puppetry of Paper Workshop, where they'll create their own paper puppet and learn performance techniques inspired by the traditional Japanese art form of Bunraku puppetry.
Performed by renowned puppeteer and Artistic Director of Little Wing Puppets, Jenny Ellis, the production combines storytelling, environmental themes and audience participation in a magical theatrical experience for children and their families.
Shellharbour City Mayor Chris Homer said the performance was a wonderful addition to the Civic Centre's school holiday program.

Recommended for children aged three years and over, the show begins at 10am, with the workshop commencing at 11.30am in the Shellharbour Civic Centre Auditorium. Bookings are essential.
