Dylan Butcher For Lismore

NSW Nationals

The NSW Nationals are pleased to announce that Dylan Butcher has been preselected as the Party's candidate to contest the seat of Lismore at the 2027 NSW General Election.

Born and raised in the Lismore electorate, Dylan now runs his own small business, working directly with tradies, organisations, and events in the community. He has also worked as a journalist, and is a qualified marriage celebrant.

"This is home. My family has been here for generations, and I grew up around people who worked hard and looked after their community," Dylan said.

"Right now, people are working harder than ever and still going backwards. Small businesses are getting hit with rising costs from every direction. And regional communities are forgotten about under a city-centric Labor government.

"People have had a gutful of it. It's time for a change of government. We should be making it easier, not harder, for people to get ahead, start a business, buy a home and raise a family right here."

NSW Nationals' Leader Gurmesh Singh said Lismore faces unique challenges and needs someone who knows the electorate and its people.

"Dylan is a born and bred Lismore local," Mr Singh said.

"He knows the pressure Labor is putting on small businesses and knows what needs to be done to get the settings right.

"Dylan will fight for what's needed in Lismore and I'm looking forward to working with him over the coming weeks to get the best possible representation for the Lismore electorate."

Federal Nationals Member for Page, Kevin Hogan, said Dylan was motivated to run due to the enormous damage Labor is doing.

"A cost of living crisis for families and small businesses never doing it so tough. Also our flood recovery has stalled with no clear vision.

"As a young business owner really excited Dylan has put his hand up. He is change you can trust," Mr Hogan said.

NSW Nationals Chair Rick Colless said Dylan will be a champion for the people of Lismore.

"He's a young bloke who know what it means stand up for his community, and he's a welcome addition to The Nationals' team."
