Ballarat Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after allegedly seizing firearms and drugs from a property in Redan yesterday.
Following an ongoing investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at a Skipton Street residence on the morning of Thursday 4 December.
Officers seized the following items:
- two improvised firearms (one loaded with a .22 round)
- firearm parts allegedly for manufacture
- ammunition
- an alleged trafficable quantity of methylamphetamine
- cannabis
A 44-year-old man was arrested at the address.
He has since been charged with:
- possess trafficable quantity of firearms
- possess unregistered handgun
- possess firearm parts for manufacture
- possess ammunition without licence
- possess methylamphetamine (trafficable quantity)
- possess cannabis
The Redan man was remanded and will appear before the Ballarat Magistrate's Court today.
