Police Charge Man After Home Invasion At Coffs Harbour

A man has been charged after an alleged home invasion on the state's north coast last night.

Just after 6.30pm (Thursday 7 May 2026), officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District responded to Eugourie Close, in Coffs Harbour, after reports of an allegedly home invasion.

Police were told a man allegedly entered the home, armed with a machete and carrying a can of fuel, before threatening and assaulting an occupant.

On arrival, officers located and arrested a 43-year-old man inside the home.

A machete and can of fuel were seized.

The man was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station, where he was charged with five offences,

- aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed,

- common assault,

- destroy or damage property less than or equal to $2000, and

- intimidate officer in execution of duty (two counts).

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 today (Friday 8 May 2026).
