Police charge man after incident in Corio

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following the death of a man after an earlier incident in Corio on Monday 20 June.

A 31-year-old Corio man has been charged with manslaughter and will appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court today.

The charges follow an incident where police were called to a business on Corangamite Drive after reports of an altercation between two men around 5am on Monday 20 June.

It is alleged the 31-year-old man from Corio, a nearby resident, confronted a man breaking into the shop and an altercation between the two occurred.

A 48-year-old Norlane man was initially taken to hospital with life-threatening-injuries but died on 23 June.
