Police charge man after indecent assault of three girls at Wagga Wagga

A man will face court charged with child sex offences following an investigation into the alleged indecent assault of three young girls in the state's Riverina region.

In August 2019, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports a man had allegedly indecently assaulted children in his care between 2015 and 2016 in Wagga Wagga.

Following extensive investigations, detectives arrested a 42-year-old man at a correctional facility in Silverwater about 3pm yesterday (Thursday 14 May 2020).

He was charged with eight counts of indecent assault person under 16 years of age, two counts of observe person in private act without consent (aggravated) and two counts of commit act of indecency with person under 16 years.

The man was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court via video link today (Friday 15 May 2020).

The Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate matters against children and adults, including sexual assault, serious physical abuse, and extreme cases of neglect.
