Police charge man after Melbourne shootings

Fawkner Embona Taskforce detectives have charged a man following three alleged drive-by shootings in Melbourne this month.

The 26-year-old Port Melbourne man was charged 26 offences including discharging a firearm at a premises, being a prohibited person possessing a firearm, reckless conducting endangering life, theft of a motor vehicle and possessing proceeds of crime.

The charges come following two alleged shootings in Jacana and Hadfield on 12 January and a third in Jacana on 26 January.

No one was injured during any of the incidents.

The man was remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 22 April.
