Police charge man after pursuit at Dubbo

A man will appear in court today, charged after an alleged pursuit with police in the state's Central West yesterday.

About 7pm (Tuesday 9 November 2021), officers attached to Western Region Enforcement Squad were patrolling the Dubbo CBD, when a Saab station wagon seen on Morgan Street, allegedly accelerated away at speed.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle; however, the Saab failed to stop and a pursuit was initiated, travelling through local streets.

After losing sight of the vehicle on Fitzroy Street, the Saab was located stopped in the driveway of a home in Callistemon Avenue.

Police arrested the driver, a 36-year-old man, at the home after a short foot pursuit.

The man was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, drive while licence cancelled and possess prohibited drug.

He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Wednesday 10 November 2021).
