Police charge man after search warrant at Oxley

A man has been charged following a search warrant in the state's north east this week.

About 1pm Wednesday (22 April 2020), officers attached to Oxley Police District's Target Action Group executed a search warrant at a home on Calala Lane, Calala.

During the search, officers located and seized a shot gun, ammunition, methylamphetamine, mobile phones, and a safe.

Following further inquiries, about 1.20pm yesterday (Thursday 23 April 2020), officers arrested a 37-year-old woman at a home on Calala Lane, Calala; however, she was later released pending further enquiries.

A short time later a 46-year old man at the location was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station.

He was charged with use, supply stolen firearm or firearm part, possess shortened firearm without authority, not keep firearm safely-prohibited firearm and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

The man was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court today (Friday 24 April 2020).
