Police Charge Man After Serious Assault At Hurstville

A man will face court today following a serious assault in Sydney's south.

Shortly before 10pm on Friday (5 December 2025), emergency services responded to reports of an assault outside a hotel along Forest Road, Hurstville.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 49-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition and placed into an induced coma.

Officers from St George Police Area Command have been informed that the man was a patron at the hotel when he exited the premises to speak with the rider of a motorcycle on the street due to the noise level of the motorcycle.

After moving the motorcycle the male rider approached the man and allegedly assaulted him before returning to the motorcycle and riding away from the location.

Neither men are believed to be known to one another.

Following inquiries, about 3:30pm yesterday (Saturday 6 December 2025), detectives attended a house in Sixth Ave, Condell Park, and arrested a 34-year-old man.

He was taken to Bankstown Police station and charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 7, today, Sunday 7 December 2025.
