A man has been charged following investigations into the alleged sexual assault of a young boy at Wentworthville yesterday.
Police will allege in court that, about 1.15pm yesterday (Monday 15 February 2021), a 13-year-old boy entered the public toilets on The Kingsway at Wentworthville.
While inside the facility he was sexually assaulted by a 70-year-old man.
The man left the toilets and was chased by the boy down the road where he was arrested by officers from Cumberland Police Area Command.
He was taken to Granville Police Station where he was charged with sexual assault of a child aged between 10 and 14.
He was refused bail and will appear in Fairfield Local Court today (Tuesday 16 February 2021).
