A man has been charged after allegedly slashing his neighbour's face with a knife in the state's south yesterday.
About 4.25pm (Monday 7 September 2020), a man, aged 28, became involved in a verbal altercation with two women in the front yard of a home on Clarence Street, Junee, before the man punched one of the women in the head.
Another man, aged 43, exited a nearby house, allegedly armed with a knife, and approached the man, before they became involved in a physical confrontation. During the struggle, the younger man sustained a cut to his face.
Both men then began wrestling and punching one another before the older man and two women walked back to their home and the younger man returned to his neighbouring property.
Shortly after, the younger man allegedly armed himself with a knife and metal pole and smashed two windows of the neighbour's house. He then walked to a vehicle parked on the neighbour's property and allegedly smashed the front and rear windscreens and damaged a side mirror.
Officers attached to Riverina Police District attended and arrested the 43-year-old man.
The younger man was taken to Wagga Wagga rural referral hospital for treatment to his face.
The older man was taken to Junee Police Station where he was charged with reckless wounding, armed with intent commit indictable offence, and affray.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Junee Local Court on Friday 6 November 2020.
