Police charge man after St Albans fatal stabbing

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following a fatal stabbing in St Albans last week.

A 26-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested in Mernda this afternoon.

He has been charged with murder, intentionally cause injury and bail offences.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court tomorrow.

The charges follow an incident on 30 December where a man was found injured in the vicinity of St Albans Road, between Princess and Percy Streets, about 10.50pm.

It's alleged the 32-year-old St Albans man was stabbed following an altercation with several males.

He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Investigators are not looking for any other persons in relation to this incident.
