Police charge man after stabbing - Dee Why

A man will face court today charged over a stabbing on Sydney's Northern Beaches yesterday.

About 12.30pm (Friday 1 January 2021), emergency services were called to Tor Road at Dee Why where they found two men suffering stab wounds.

Both men were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital.

One of the men, aged 23, was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with multiple wounds to his face, hands and legs. He is currently in a stable condition.

The second man, aged 22, was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquires, detectives arrested the younger man and he was taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Dee Why man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 2 January 2021).

Police will allege in court the pair became involved in an argument before the younger man stabbed the older man multiple times.

Inquiries are continuing.
