Police charge man after stolen vehicle involved in Moorabbin collision

A man has been charged following a collision in Moorabbin last week.

The 33-year-old man has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, driving whilst disqualified, careless driving, five counts of obtaining a property by deception, attempting to obtain a property by deception and two counts of committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

The charges follow an incident in the early hours of Friday, 13 May where a man lost control of an allegedly stolen vehicle and collided with a white utility at the intersection of South Road and Railway Crescent, before crashing into a business.

The driver allegedly fled the scene on foot, before being arrested by police a short distance away and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

He has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 24 May.
