Police Charge Man And Woman After Assault In Clyde

Police have charged a man and woman after two men were allegedly stabbed and assaulted in Clyde earlier this week.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command began an investigation after they were called to James Ruse Drive about 3.40am on Thursday 15 May 2025, following reports a 54-year-old man had been stabbed in the neck and cheek and a 36-year-old man had been assaulted.

Police will allege the men were transporting a 28-year-old Tongan National from Villawood to Sydney Airport when the incident occurred.

The two injured men were treated at Westmead Hospital.

Cumberland Police Area Command, assisted by Robbery and Serious Crime Squad, commenced an extensive search to locate the man, under Strike Force Cobra.

An arrest warrant in relation to the alleged assault offences was issued for the 28-year-old man.

About 9.40pm yesterday (Friday 16 May 2025), officers attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command were called to Eschol Park Drive, Eschol Park, following reports the man was sighted.

A short time later, he was arrested on Ballantrae Drive, St Andrews, and was taken to Campbelltown Police Station.

A woman, aged 24, was also arrested at the scene and was taken to the same police station.

The man has been charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder and wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 17 May 2025).

The woman has been charged with knowingly harbour, maintain or employ an escaped inmate and was granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Thursday 22 May 2025.
