Police charge man following Ballarat incident

Police have charged a man following an incident in Ballarat earlier this week.

The incident occurred about 11.15am on Tuesday, 5 March outside a sports store on Greville Street.

A 25-year-old man was arrested and subsequently charged with sexual offences.

He was remanded to appear at Ballarat Magistrates' Court on 30 May, 2019.

Detectives from the Ballarat Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team still wish to speak to a number of people who were in the area at the time.

It's believed a man wearing a green shirt stopped to speak to the 19-year-old female victim following the incident, and a woman driving a white 4WD also stopped to speak with the victim and other people in the vicinity.

Police would like to speak with both of those people, as well as anyone else who may have witnessed the incident.
