Police charge man over alleged, assault robbery at Dubbo

A man will face court today charged with an alleged aggravated robbery in the state's Orana Region last month.

About 12pm on Wednesday 17 March 2021, a man withdrew cash from a bank on Macquarie Street, Dubbo, before returning to his vehicle.

It is alleged a man unknown to him entered the car and allegedly assaulted the driver before running from the scene with the cash.

The driver sustained bruising and swelling as a result of the incident.

Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District were notified and commenced inquiries.

About 11.30pm on Wednesday (7 April 2021), police arrested a 35-year-old man at a licensed premises on Fitzroy Street, Dubbo.

He was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with aggravated robbery.

He has been refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court today (Friday 9 April 2021).
