Police Charge Man Over Animal Cruelty At Coleambally

A man will appear in court later this month after being charged with alleged animal cruelty offences in the state's south west.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District commenced an investigation in April 2024, following reports of alleged acts of animal cruelty at Coleambally late last years.

Following inquiries, about 8:55am today (Sunday 5 May 2024), police attended a home on Willin Road, Coleambally, and arrested a man, aged 20.

He was taken to Darlington Point Police Station and charged with recklessly beat etc and kills animal and torture, beat, etc and cause prolonged suffering to animal.

He was given conditional bail to appear before Griffith Local Court on Wednesday 15 May 2024.
