Police charge man over armed robbery in Launceston

A 32 year old Launceston man has been charged over an alleged armed robbery in Launceston overnight.

Police attended a report of an armed robbery involving a man entering Mood Food Grand Central Service Station on Wellington Street, Launceston, about 10pm last night. The man approached a staff member, produced a pair of scissors and demanded money. The male left the store with a small amount of cash. No ones was injured during the incident.

The man has been detained to appear in after hours court today.
