Police charge man over assault at Guildford

A man will face court today charged over the alleged assault of another man at Guildford last week.

About 4.40pm on Thursday (28 December 2023), a 29-year-old man attended a home on Clyde Street, Guildford and spoke to the occupant before he was allegedly physically assaulted causing cash to fall from his pocket, which was then stolen.

The man left after also allegedly being struck with a metal pole. He contacted an ambulance before being taken to Westmead Hospital suffering facial injuries.

Following inquiries, a 22-year-old man was arrested after attending Granville Police Station about 4.50pm yesterday (Friday 29 December 2023).

A crime scene warrant was executed at the home on Clyde Street with forensic samples, clothing and cash seized for examination.

The man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company and steal from person.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 20 December 2023).
