Police Charge Man Over Assault In Blackheath

A man will face court over assaulting another man in Blue Mountains area last night.

Just after 10.45pm yesterday (Tuesday 2 September 2025), police were called to a licensed premises on Great Western Highway, Blackheath, following reports of an alleged assault.

Officers attached to Blue Mountains Police Area Command were told a man behaved abusively and assaulted a 26-year-old male staff when he was allegedly refused service.

The male staff was not injured.

Following inquiries, a short time later, police arrested a 20-year-old man at a park in Blackheath.

He was taken to Katoomba Police Station where he was charged with common assault (two counts), destroy or damage property, excluded person fail to leave premises when required, and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal).

Police will allege in court that the man has damaged the window at the licensed premises after the assault and he entered a service station on the same street where he assaulted a 61-year-old male customer.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Katoomba Local Court on Friday 10 October 2025.
