A man will face court over a dangerous driving in Sydney's inner west yesterday.
About 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday 11 September 2025), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were conducting a random breath testing operation on The Crescent, Annandale, when they observed a black Porsche SUV.
Checks revealed that vehicle was stolen from the Sydney Domestic Airport, Mascot, about 2.50pm on the same day.
A short time later, police located the vehicle at a service station on Victoria Road, Rozelle.
When officers approached the male driver, he drove away along Victoria Road, after he collided into a marked police vehicle at the service station.
The vehicle was located abandoned on Balmain Road after it has allegedly collided into two other vehicles.
The alleged driver – a 48-year-old man – was arrested nearby and subjected to a roadside breath and drug test, which he returned with an alleged positive reading to cannabis.
He was taken to Newtown Police Station where an oral fluid sample was obtained for further analysis.
The man was taken to St Vincent's Hospital for further assessment with his injuries under police guard.
He was later released from hospital and taken back to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, not give particulars to owner of damaged property (two counts), not give particulars to other driver (three counts), drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous, not comply P1/P2 high performance vehicle restriction, not comply P2 licence condition not display P plates, and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 6 today (Friday 12 September 2025).
