Police charge man over detainment and indecent assaults of women - Woolloomooloo

A man will face court today charged over the alleged detainment and indecent assaults of three women in Woolloomooloo.

Officers from Kings Cross Police Area Command commenced an investigation after an unknown man forced his way into a unit at Woolloomooloo, holding flowers, about 8.30am on Tuesday 1 May 2018.

The man allegedly indecently assaulted the occupant, a 33-year-old woman, before fleeing the apartment.

On Wednesday 5 September 2018, police will allege in court that the man approached a 27-year-old woman outside an apartment in Woolloomooloo before he invited her inside and indecently assaulted her.

On Thursday 28 March 2019, a 29-year-old woman was allegedly forced inside an apartment in Woolloomooloo by the man before she was indecently assaulted and detained in the apartment for several minutes.

Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a 64-year-old man at a home in Woolloomooloo about 3.50pm yesterday (Wednesday 3 April 2019).

He was taken to Kings Cross Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage, breach of bail, and commit act of indecency with person 16 years or over.

He was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Thursday 4 April 2019).
