A man has been charged following an investigation into the alleged supply of drugs in the state's Southern Region.
As part of an ongoing investigation, officers attached to Southern Region Enforcement Squad Illawarra identified a 46-year-old Kiama man allegedly involved in drug supply.
Following inquiries, officers – with the assistance of Southern Region Operational Support Group – executed a search warrant at a house on Barney Street, Kiama, yesterday (Thursday 9 April 2026).
During the search, police allegedly located and seized 140g of methylamphetamine, 24g of heroin, 20g of methylamphetamine, $12,900 cash, a 2.5m cannabis plant, prohibited weapons and stolen number plates.
He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station, where he was charged with seven offences including two counts of possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, two counts of supply prohibited drug more than indictable and less than commercial quantity, recklessly deal with proceeds of crime, goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle) and cultivate prohibited plant less than or equal to small quantity.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 3 today (Friday 10 April 2026).
