Police charge man over drug supply at Tamworth

A man will appear in court today after being charged with drug supply in the state's New England region.

Strike force Munderah was established by detectives attached to Oxley Police District in July 2018, to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs.

Following inquiries, just after 3.30pm yesterday (Thursday 4 July 2019), a search warrant was executed at a house on Goonoo Goonoo Road, South Tamworth.

During the search, police located and seized a pistol, a butterfly knife, cannabis and methylamphetamine.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Tamworth Police station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess unauthorised pistol, not keep firearm safely, possess prohibited drug x 2 and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permission.

The man was refused bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court today (Friday 5 July 2019).
