Police charge man over drugs and weapons, Broadbeach

Police have charged a 31-year-old man with drugs and weapons offences after several firearms, GHB and cannabis were allegedly located at a Broadbeach unit on Monday July 5.

It will be alleged that around 3.30pm, police were alerted to a stolen credit card being used to pay for accommodation at a resort on Surf Parade.

Officers attended the Surf Parade unit complex where they allegedly located three firearms, ammunition, a silencer, knife, Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid (GHB), 895 grams of cannabis, pipes and several mobile phones.

A 31-year-old Nerang man was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with three counts of unlawfully possessing a weapon and one count each of fraud, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils and use thing to forge document.

He is scheduled to reappear at the Southport Magistrates Court on July 27.
