Police charge man over Hampton Park house fire

Police have charged a 38-year-old Hampton Park man following a fire in Hampton Park on Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to an address in Nilufa Court about 6.45am after reports a house was on fire.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze and the fire was deemed suspicious.

Investigators arrested the 38-year-old this afternoon.

He has been charged with criminal damage by fire, criminal damage, stalking, make threats to kill and assault.

He has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Saturday 9 October.
