Police charge man over Miena fire

Police have charged a 66-year-old Miena man in relation to a fire yesterday morning which destroyed a residence on Highland Lakes Road at Miena.

Around 7am emergence services attended the property, and Tasmania Fire Service extinguishing the fire.

The main dwelling on the property was destroyed by the fire. A second building on the property was not damaged.

No one was present at the address at the time of the fire.

The man will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court later today on charges of Arson, Aggravated burglary and Stealing, as well as firearm possession and storage offences.
