Police charge man over multiple car break-ins in Battery Point

Police have charged an 18-year-old man with several offences following a series of motor vehicle burglaries in Battery Point overnight.

The man was arrested in the early hours of this morning, and an amount of stolen property was recovered.

At this stage, police have identified 17 vehicles that were targeted and investigators are asking Battery Point residents to check whether they have been affected.

The man has been charged with attempted motor vehicle stealing, burglary, stealing and other offences. He is due to appear in court on 9 November.

Members of the public are reminded to always ensure parked and unattended vehicles are locked and secured, and to avoid leaving any visible property inside.
