Police charge man over police car ram in Fawkner

A 31-year-old man has been charged after a police car was rammed in Fawkner.

Investigators say police were called to a suspicious vehicle in a carpark with a false number plate on Sydney Road on Sunday afternoon. (October 27)

Police attempted to speak to the male driver who allegedly rammed a police vehicle and an ambulance before fleeing from the scene.

The officers were not injured during the incident and the police vehicle received minor panel damage.

The Lalor man has been charged with numerous offences including aggravated intentionally exposing emergency services to risk while driving, theft of a vehicle, unlicensed driving, failing to stop and render assistance after an accident.

He will appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court for a filing hearing today, 29 October.
