Police charge man over sexual assault of teen at Nowra

A man will face court today charged over the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl in the state's south.

About 5.30pm Saturday (1 February 2020), police allege a 43-year-old man entered the bedroom of a 17-year-old girl who is known to him and sexually assaulted her.

The matter was reported to police and an investigation commenced by officers from South Coast Police District.

Following inquiries, police attended a home in Bomaderry a short time later and arrested a 43-year-old man.

The man was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

He was refused bail and is due to face Nowra Local Court today (Monday 3 February 2020).
