Police charge man over sexual touching of girl on train - North Shore

Police have charged a man after he allegedly sexually touched a girl a train last month on Sydney's North Shore.

Just after 2.30pm on Tuesday 25 February 2020, a 12-year-old girl boarded a citybound train at Asquith Railway Station.

A man also boarded the train and sat directly opposite the girl. When the girl moved into another carriage, the man allegedly followed her and sat nearby.

The girl got up to move again and as she tried to walk past the man, he allegedly sexually touched her.

Police were notified and officers from North Shore Police Area Command commenced an investigation.

About 3pm yesterday (Thursday 19 March 2020), a 21-year-old man attended Hornsby Police Station and was charged with sexual touching, and intimidation.

He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday 3 June 2020.
