Police charge man over shooting - Sans Souci

A man has been charged over a shooting at Sans Souci earlier this month.

On Thursday 18 July 2019, detectives from St George Police Area Command commenced an investigation after receiving information about a possible shooting which occurred in the preceding days on Bonanza Lane.

Further investigations revealed the shooting occurred about 10pm on Saturday 13 July 2019, where a shotgun was fired towards the feet of a 44-year-old man, who sustained grazes as a result.

The incident was not reported to police at the time.

Following inquiries, about 6.10pm yesterday (Wednesday 24 July 2019), a 27-year-old man was arrested at Riverwood Police Station.

He was subsequently charged with assault with intent to rob armed with a dangerous weapon, fire firearm manner likely to injure persons, and acquire pistol etc subject to firearms prohibition order.

He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Thursday 25 July 2019).
