Police charge man over stabbing - Matraville

A man will appear in court charged after another man was allegedly stabbed in Sydney's eastern suburbs earlier this week.

About 11.30pm on Monday 4 December 2023, emergency services were called to Beauchamp Road, Matraville, after reports of a stabbing.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and located a man – aged 30 – suffering stab wounds to his upper body and legs.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a home on Minneapolis Crescent, Maroubra, about 7.50am today (Thursday 7 December 2023), and arrested a 23-year-old man.

He was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail and will appear before Waverley Local Court tomorrow (Friday 8 December 2023).
