Police charge man over stolen car at Orange

Police have arrested a man in relation to a stolen vehicle in Orange today.

About 4am this morning (Thursday 30 May 2019), Central West police were patrolling Lone Pine Avenue, Orange, when they saw a Ford Falcon utility, suspected to be stolen.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, however the Ford accelerated away before the driver lost control and the vehicle collided with a power pole on Amber Street in Orange.

Two occupants of the suspected stolen vehicle fled the scene and were pursued by police on foot.

A 29-year-old man was caught and arrested by police. He was found to be carrying a knife, a bullet, a screwdriver and was wearing riggers gloves.

Inquiries confirmed the vehicle was stolen.

The man was charged with steal motor vehicle, resist police, possess ammunition, possess knife and possess house breaking implements.

He was refused bail by police and appeared at Orange Local Court today where his bail was refused to next appear before Orange Local Court on Monday 8 July 2019.

Inquiries continue to identify and locate the second occupant of the stolen vehicle.
