Police charge man over supply of illegal e-cigarettes at Griffith

A man has been charged over the alleged supply of e-cigarettes in the state's south.

In October this year, officers from Murrumbidgee Police District commenced an investigation into the supply of e-cigarettes or 'vapes', containing nicotine, within the Griffith area.

Following inquiries, investigators – with assistance from NSW Health compliance officers – executed a search warrant at a service station on Griffin Avenue, Griffith, just after 9.30am yesterday (Thursday 25 November 2021).

During a search of the location, police seized more than 1230 e-cigarettes containing nicotine, with an estimated potential street value of $55,000.

Subsequently, a 28-year-old man was issued a Court Attendance Notice for two counts of restricted substance sold by non-wholesaler.

He is due to appear before Griffith Local Court on Wednesday 19 January 2021.
