Police charge man over wave pool assault, sexual touching at Illawarra

A man has been charged after he allegedly sexually touched and assaulted three girls at a recreation park in the Illawarra earlier this month.

About 11.45am on Saturday 13 March 2021, three 12-year-old girls were swimming in a wave pool at an Illawarra-based recreation park, when they were allegedly grabbed by the waist by a man who wasn't known to them.

The girls left the pool and reported the incident to staff and police.

Following an investigation by detectives from Lake Illawarra Police District, a 27-year-old man was arrested today (Wednesday 24 March 2021), at Blacktown Police Station.

He was charged with sexual touching girl between 10 and 16 years old, and two counts of common assault.

The Doonside man was granted conditional bail to appear at Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 5 May 2021.
