Police charge man with 10 offences including assault police at Katoomba

A man will appear in court today after being charged with multiple offences, including assaulting a police officer, in Katoomba.

About 6.15pm yesterday (Sunday 2 June 2019), officers from Blue Mountains Police District attended a licenced premises on Katoomba Street, Katoomba, following reports a man was acting in an offensive manner.

Police will allege when attempting to arrest the man, he assaulted a constable and resisted arrest.

The 21-year-old female constable was taken to Blue Mountains District Hospital for treatment to an elbow injury.

The 57-year-old man was taken to Katoomba Police Station where he was charged with two counts of malicious damage, two counts of excluded person remain in vicinity of licenced premises, two counts of offensive conduct, offensive language, wilful and obscene exposure, resist police and assault police occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear in Penrith Local Court today (Monday 3 June 2019).
