Police charge man with arson, domestic violence offences at Logan

Detectives have charged a man with arson, trespass and using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence (domestic violence offences) following investigations into a unit fire at Eagleby yesterday.

It will be alleged shortly after 12pm the 47-year-old man entered the rear of the property and poured an accelerant onto a chair before setting fire to it.

Upon police and emergency services arrival the fire was extinguished causing damage to the unit. A woman inside at the time was able to escape without injury.

The 47-year-old Beaudesert man has been denied police bail and remanded in custody to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow charged with domestic violence offences including arson, trespass and using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.
