Police charge man with assault police, obscene exposure - Burwood

A man has been charged with assault police and obscene exposure after he allegedly exposed himself to passing traffic in Concord today.

About 11.30am Sunday (1 December 2019), police were called to Flavelle Street, Concord, following reports a man was exposing himself to traffic.

Officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command attended and approached the man, who allegedly became violent and punched a female probationary constable in the face. He then allegedly punched a female senior constable.

The man was eventually restrained with the assistance of a member of the public.

The 33-year-old man was taken to Burwood Police Station where he was charged with two counts of assault police, breach of bail and obscene exposure.

He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court tomorrow (Monday 2 December 2019).

The female probationary constable sustained bruising and a concussion.

The senior constable was not injured.
