Police charge man with attempted murder over hit and run - Cronulla

A further charge has been laid against a man after he allegedly drove over another man in Sydney's south at the weekend.

Just after midnight on Sunday 19 January 2020, emergency services were called to Flinders Road, Cronulla, following reports a man had been struck by a Mitsubishi Pajero 4WD.

On arrival, officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command located a 46-year-old man, suffering injuries to his arms and torso. He was taken to Sutherland Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established with officers commencing an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A 50-year-old man was charged and remains before the courts.

Following further inquiries, investigators laid a further charge of attempted murder against the 50-year-old man.

He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Thursday 23 January 2020).
