Police Charge Man With Drink Driving In Orford

Police have charged a 44-year-old man after he was detected drink driving more than five times the legal limit at Orford yesterday.

The man was intercepted by police about 4pm on the Tasman Highway, and he subsequently returned a breath analysis reading of 0.299 per cent.

Police will allege the man was earlier observed driving in an impaired manner by other road users.

The man was charged with exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit and driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor. He was disqualified from driving for a period of 12 months and will appear before the court at a later date.
