Police charge man with drug and firearms offences in Sydney Airport

A man will face Court charged with drug supply and possessing ammunition after being detected at a screening point at Sydney's Domestic Terminal.

About 1.45pm (Sunday 22 November 2020), officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command attended Sydney Domestic Terminal after reports a man was attempting to travel from Sydney to Melbourne.

Subsequent inquiries revealed the man was in breach of Court imposed bail restrictions.

During a search of the man's luggage, police allegedly located a quantity of ammunition, a small plastic bag containing cocaine, a bottle containing the drug GBL and a quantity of cash will police believe were the proceeds of crime.

The 25-year-old man from Wiley Park was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with six offences;

  • Possess ammunition without holding a licence,
  • Acquire ammunition subject to a Prohibition Order,
  • Supply prohibited drug,
  • Possess prohibited drug,
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime, and
  • Breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear in Central Local Court today (Monday 23 November 2020).
