Police charge man with drug offences after search warrant at Oxley

A man has been charged after drugs were seized during a search warrant in the state's north east.

About 10pm on Friday (24 April 2020), officers attached to Oxley Police District, including detectives, general duties and the Target Action Group, executed a search warrant at a house on Fitzroy Street, Barraba, about 91km from Tamworth.

During the search, police allegedly located and seized cannabis, methylamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and a gel pistol.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug and deal with property proceeds of crime.

The man was given conditional bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Monday 6 July 2020.

Crime Manager of Oxley Police District, Detective Acting Inspector Jason Darcy, encouraged those who may have information on the supply of prohibited drugs in Tamworth and its surrounding areas, including Barraba, to come forward.

"If you have information that can assist our investigators, we would like to speak with you. Your information will be treated in strict confidence." Det A/Insp Darcy said.
