Police charge man with firearm, drug offences – South Coast

A man has been charged with firearm and drug offences following a search warrant on the state’s South Coast.

About 4pm on Thursday 20 August 2020, officers from the South Coast Police District Proactive Crime Team stopped a vehicle on Country Club Drive, Catalina.

During a search of the driver, a 21-year-old man, police located prohibited drugs and prescription medication. He was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station.

Following further inquiries, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Albatross Road, Catalina, a short time later.

Police allegedly located and seized firearm parts, ammunition, cash, electronic devices and two 3D printers. These items will undergo forensic examination.

The 21-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug (x3), possess firearm parts without authority, possess ammunition without a licence (x2) and possess prohibited weapon.

He was refused bail and appeared at Batemans Bay Local Court on Friday 21 August 2020, where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday 14 September 2020
