Police charge man with firearm offences at Goulburn

A man has been arrested and charged with firearm offences following a police search at a house in Goulburn.

Officers attended the home earlier this week (Sunday 23 June) following reports a man had been stabbed in the neck.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Following the wounding incident, police executed a crime scene warrant at the location and seized an air rifle.

At 1.30pm yesterday (25 June 2019), police executed a search warrant at the home and located a replica pistol buried in the rear yard of the premises.

Officers also located a home-made electronic control device (ECD), bullets, prescription medication and jewellery.

A 52-year-old man was arrested at the scene and conveyed to Goulburn Police Station.

The man was charged with 11 offences including possess prohibited weapon (taser), possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered pistol, possess unregistered firearm (air rifle), possess unauthorised firearm (rifle), possess firearm whilst unlicensed (air rifle), possess ammunition, goods in personal custody (jewellery), goods in custody on premises (medication) and two counts of not keep firearm safe (replica pistol and air rifle).

He was refused bail and will appear at Goulburn Local Court today (Wednesday 26 June 2019).
